Jake's Crab Shack- Deep Melbourne Beach- 5 Stars
I was hesitant to eat here because the owner of this restaurant owns a restaurant on my top 5 worst restaurants in Brevard. However, in honor of my commitment to go to every restaurant in Brevard County, I decided to go. All I can say is WOW!!!! What difference.
I am not sure why there is such a huge discrepancy between the two restaurants however, after asking my chef friends a hint of the quality difference is the executive chef Charlie Ludwig.
As we entered this uniquely decorated palace of food we were greeted by our server Virginia, who was knowledgeable about the items on the menu and the qualifications of the Chef. I ordered the Dungeness Crab as well as a lobster roll.
The lobster was fresh. It was cooked properly and mixed with a sauce that at first starts sweet then turns savory. I always say it's the little things that make a difference. The tiny difference with this dish is the toasted roll with a light brush of butter. Delicious. The Crab is served with a full cob of corn and fingerling potatoes. This corn is fresh. Both the corn and the potato come seasoned and buttered. Bravo. It's the little things like this. The Crab was tasty. It was cooked to temp and the seasoning I chose really sang. This restaurant is almost top 5. If a top five closes or drops in quality Jake's will make the list. Big Boy says make the long leisurely drive. It's worth
