D.I.G Bistro – CLOSED

Thursday 19 October, 2017

I looked with a jaundiced eye at D.I.G. Expecting lazy millennials and bad food. So I am pleasantly pleased to report THE FOOD HERE IS GREAT. I ordered Shrimp & Grits and a cup of coffee. Coffee was standard restaurant fare. The shrimp were not locally sourced as they claim but they were cooked properly. What brings this whole dish together is the pancetta and goat cheese. Just a smattering of the cheese adds real zing to the grits and the bacon juice is in correct proportion as not to make the grits greasy. The grits are unique and wonderful. The decor is California hippy, maybe Portland, Oregon trippy. Everyone who works here is of that ilk. So be patient and wait for the food it's worth it. The ONLY thing that kept me from giving 5 stars to this restaurant was my server. She had thigh length unwashed hair that was malodorous. What made it worse was an attempt to cover the stench with a patchouli scent. Thankfully, her service was horrendous and someone else brought the food. If you go and get her as a server ask for someone else. Otherwise ENJOY!!!!!!!
